Designed by Mark P. Finlay Architects, the concept of this stone and wood barn was to create a retreat for the owner of this Ridgefield, Connecticut property. The brand new ‘old’ building fits within the historic context of the compound and includes the main living space, a pub room complete with wet bar, wine cellar, gym, library/conference room, outdoor living and dining space and extensive outdoor kitchen with large pizza oven.
The structure is nestled in the landscape adjacent to the pool and reflects a fusion of rustic and modern styles with sleek vertical wood siding juxtaposed with natural stone. The main living area features 21-foot exposed timber-framed ceilings overlooked by a separate loft lounge area. The ultimate gentleman’s sanctuary, the barn represents the true lifestyle of the client with a contextual architectural design.

What We Love: This modern rustic barn is used as a retreat for family gathering and as a man cave for relaxing, working out and business functions. The outdoor spaces are just as lavish, providing plenty of space for living, dining and entertaining family and friends. Ideally connected to the pool area, this helps to expand this amazing entertainment barn to the outdoors.
