Cozy rustic cabin in Spain adorned with Scandinavian Christmas decor

This cozy rustic cabin in Spain frames views of the forest, renovated by PiriAran and interior designer Bárbara Aurell, from Estudio en Blanco. Before the renovation, the wood in this home was dark and the interiors felt very closed off. All the wood was sanded and stripped. The entire fireplace wall is lined with wood, the focal point of this beautifully decorated living room.

Need To Know: This cozy cabin is available as a vacation rental, from Feelfree Rentals.

Above: For the Christmas tree decorations, the designer combined white and Scottish ornaments. The white balls are made of plastic, which is more resistant. The tree measures 230 cm. Everything is from Ikea.

What We Love: This cozy rustic cabin celebrates the Christmas season with festive decorations and snowy forested views. We are loving the layering of textures in this home, adding comfort and warmth. This would be an idyllic place to spend the winter holidays with loved ones enjoying the beautiful scenery and that cozy fireplace!

Above: The fireplace wall is very warm, made to measure and is so solid that it looks like a tree. The wall is lined with wood and the furniture includes wood. Above the fireplace, the wreath is from Ikea.

Above: The kitchen is small, is open to the stairs and, next to it, is a dining table.

Above: The dining room is open to the stairs. A built-in banquette is tucked in against the wall, allowing for additional seating. The texture of the carpet gives this space character. The wreaths, LED star curtain, golden pots, tablecloth, and candles are all from Ikea.

Above: For gifts, papers, boxes, bows, and ribbons are from Ikea. There are a variety of prints, but red tones dominate.

Above: Adorning the staircase that leads up to the attic bedroom are candles, garland LEDs and baskets of Ikea fiber optic string lights.

Above: The attic bedroom of this cozy rustic cabin is also decorated for Christmas with holly sprigs, a wreath in the window and led garlands. The most important thing: the green blanket gives the perfect shade to this beige bed. Many of the decorations and pillows are from Ikea.

Warm and cozy cabin nicely decorated for Christmas, but OH that open dining area to stairway!!! This is an accident waiting to happen. Simple iron or wooden posts with wire cables for railing would make it safe. Glass railing is also an option.
