Jenkins Custom Homes designed this chic vineyard farmhouse style home located in the gated neighborhood of the Peninsula at Rough Hollow in Austin, Texas. This 4,143 square foot home was built for the Spring Parade of Homes, boasting four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms. An expansive single story home with a loft, this home capitalizes on the lot’s best feature โ its privacy and 1.2-acre size.
The massing takes four sections of the homeโs architecture and brings them together in the center with an all-glass โlinkโ, creating a private courtyard in the front and private pool area in the back. Knowing that the modern farmhouse style of architecture was gaining popularity, the team decided to design the home with farmhouse appeal and added a vineyard in front to complete the feel.
Wanting the architecture to be experienced, the design team strove to blur the lines between inside and out. The breezeway marks the beginning of that journey via large wooden sliding barn doors opening up into the bright courtyard. Large stackable glass doors and automated screens in the living and dining areas capture the year-round breezes. This home is brimming with rustic charm, but has touches of modernity, creating a perfect balance between old and new.
Interesting Fact: When the Vineyard Farmhouse, made its debut at the Spring Parade of Homes at the Peninsula, it won the Peopleโs Choice Award and received recognition for the โBest Family Roomโ, โMost Innovative Designโ, โBest Master Bedroomโ and โBest Master Bathโ.
