This beautiful country farmhouse was designed as a family weekend retreat by Chango & Co., located in Amenia, a town in Dutchess County, New York. Designed for a family of four, with two young kids ages six and eight, the designer created spaces catered to adults and kids alike. There are plenty of farmhouse elements throughout this home, including the X-detail you see on the front door. In addition to the entry door, the striking Carlisle hardwood plank flooring can be seen throughout the interiors for added warmth. Adding to the inviting farmhouse feel is the V-groove cladding on every wall, for detail and visual texture.
What We Love: This country farmhouse provides a serene getaway for a family to escape city living. The designer has done a fantastic job of conceiving comfortable living spaces with a feeling of serenity thanks to a neutral color palette. Natural elements used throughout the interiors creates an aesthetic that is both modern and rustic. While in the children’s spaces, pops of color creates a playful yet stylish feel that makes this retreat suitable for adults and kids alike… Readers, please share with us your overall thoughts on the design of this farmhouse retreat in the Comments below!
