This transitional home, originally constructed in the 1950’s, was renovated by Huntington Interior Design. Located in one of Tulsa, Oklahoma’s historic neighborhoods, this 4,500 square foot home is comprised of four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms. The homeowners, an attorney, and an executive in the oil industry, had just moved from Texas with their two children and immediately hired Huntington ID to fully remodel and update their newly purchased home.
Tracy Huntington, owner, and principal of her namesake studio, said of the project: “When we met at my office, I knew they would be the perfect client – they trusted us implicitly. This is the key to a good client/designer relationship. Their only request was to transform the house into a family home. I knew this meant a classic look updated with stained wood floors, and shades of white painted on the walls and trim for a clean, bright look. The seamless, neutral colors throughout tie the entire home together, but not without interesting twists.”
The fanciful turns are impactful in contrast to the otherwise neutral tones. The saturated blue study is perhaps the most breathtaking. The walls, wallpapered ceiling by Schumacher, built-in bookcase, and sofa all in a matching, custom shade of blue, prove that bold is beautiful. In the living room, the central gathering place, seating is everything. Their Hickory Chair velvet navy sofa and cocktail sized leather ottomans in a deep cognac color are the perfect staples for a social setting of any size.
What We Love: This transitional home renovation offers a bright and airy new layout for the homeowners to enjoy a relaxing and comfortable lifestyle. Stylish furnishings creates an inviting atmosphere, while accessories and decor helps to add personalization to the interior living spaces. The wood flooring keeps a fluid transition between living spaces, infusing warmth and character.

The rich mahogany television cabinet handcrafted by Hickory Chair, provides the perfect mix of utility and aesthetic by both hiding electronics and adding to the overall look. On the walls and trim is Sherwin Williams Shoji White, to brighten the room.
One special request by the client was the “coffee room” — a space to relax. The timeless Hickory Chair cabinet with fretwork detail and classic pinstripe spool chairs offer just that, topped off with Currey and Company chandelier for a touch of glamour.

The formal dining room, the crown jewel of any home, was the biggest expense with its mahogany Hickory Chair table and custom full-grain leather chairs. The space is complete with elegant and elevated touches of sparkle from the Scalamandre Metal Cork wallpaper on the ceiling to the high gloss Benjamin Moore Skipping Stone on the walls.
