An Edwardian style home was given a contemporary renovation and addition by Andy Martin Architecture, located in west London, England, United Kindom. Aptly named “Beach House”, the only thing thats missing is the ocean; however, crisp white interiors with some splashes of color and bleached blonde wood flooring and bright, airy interiors creates a beachy vibe. The new addition features walls of glass that opens the house to the views of an expansive English garden instead of an ocean. In the evening time, the exterior elevation at the back of the property resembles a child’s dollhouse. The downstairs area features the main living spaces, while the upstairs houses the private spaces of the home. On the upper level, the bedroom spaces were preserved, remained subdued and quiet with minimal contemporary interventions.
What We Love: The soaring ceilings and walls of glass in the new addition creates a bright and airy space that is very livable. The spiral staircase in the living area addition is also very eye-catching, sculptural and just plain fun! What do you like about this renovation?
