Reflecting a contemporary desert style, this Bali-inspired home was designed by custom home builder Calvis Wyant Luxury Homes, located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The homeowners were inspired by modern resorts in Indonesia, wishing for indoor-outdoor living spaces for entertaining. They wanted the home to have a tropical feel both indoors and out. Their family-oriented neighborhood required this home to also be suitable for children coming over for playtime with their grade school son.
The floorplan is open and airy, with large expanses of glass walls that blurs the lines between indoors and out. In the great room, pocket doors disappear into the wall, extending this space out to the patio and swimming pool area—perfect for entertaining. To shade the home from the harsh sun exposure, the builders designed four foot metal overhangs. Just off the great room and next to the master bedroom are small reflecting ponds, adding a tropical feel.

Outdoor spaces provides plenty of areas for entertaining, from the backyard fire pit, outdoor grill and even a bocce ball court. On the interiors, design studio DeCesare Design Group was responsible for creating clean lines mixed with natural materials. Limestone flooring adds a touch of elegance throughout the main living spaces. To keep the spaces feeling family-friendly, the designer added funky light fixtures and bursts of color and texture. Tropical hues were integrated throughout, keeping the home connection with nature.
