This Northern Italian style villa was designed by Gordon Stein Design in collaboration with Engstrom Construction. The property is located in the Hideaway Golf Club community, in the heart of La Quinta, California. This spectacular luxury desert home offers dramatic vistas of the Santa Rosa Mountains as its backdrop. Encompassing 8,800 square feet of living space, the interiors reflects a modern transitional style.

Beautifully appointed furnishings and finishes and material elements can be discovered throughout this home. Highlights also includes a completely integrated home automation system. There are also nine fireplaces throughout the property. Expansive outdoor living spaces were created to offer the homeowners plenty of areas to enjoy entertaining guests. The residence features a superb indoor/outdoor desert lifestyle, ideal for this desert environment.

The indoor/outdoor lifestyle was the client’s primary request for the design of their home. “The Mediterranean style best lends itself, with classic details and clean lines, to capture from the interior the large-scale outdoor spaces,” states the architect. He incorporated Italian architectural forms, which included vaulted ceilings and arches often found in elegant homes lining Italy’s Amalfi Coast and on the island of Capri.

Scot, totally agree. Area rugs really finish off a space when you have bare floors. They help to ground a room and add some texture and warmth. To each his own :)
