This contemporary townhouse retreat was designed by Evoke International Design, located in Whistler, a town north of Vancouver, in British Columbia, Canada. The main living room in the home of a retired hockey player provides a comfortable gathering place to entertain friends.
Notice how the television is recessed into the wall? It helps add to the clean lines of the space. A built-in sofa provides seating for up to ten people, making this the perfect spot for entertaining guests. A hint of rustic is infused into the space with the side-by-side coffee tables. On the wall, a painting by a local artist helps to visually connect the indoors to the outdoors.
What We Love: This townhouse retreat offers clean lines and a minimalist design aesthetic in the ultimate mountain town. Although contemporary, the use of wood throughout adds warmth to the spaces. Soaring ceilings and expansive windows keeps the space feeling light and airy.

The fireplace was already existing to the space, the designer updated it with unglazed porcelain tile. The lack of mantel adds to the clean lines, while the tile adds texture.

The use of a floating vanity and toilet creates visual lightness, not to mention low-maintancence when cleaning the floors.
