This beautifully designed contemporary retreat is the work of Michael Hsu Office of Architecture in collaboration with Laura Roberts Design, located in the city of Llano, Texas. Spread out over two levels, a double height great room reveals floor-to-ceiling walls of glass. This helps to embrace its natural landscape and keep the interiors feeling light and airy. Wood siding lends a rusticity to the exterior of the home, along with a single story stone clad structure. Inviting you into the interior of the home, you are greeted by striking modern furnishings and a clean, simple layout.
The living room features a unique freestanding fireplace suspended from the ceiling. The concrete hearth provides a clean, modern aesthetic to the space. Concrete flooring adds to the minimalist feel and helps to keep the home cool during the warm summer months.
What We Love: This contemporary retreat features plenty of unique design details. One such details is the solid void in the center of the home for the stairwell that leads up to the second story, private master bedroom retreat. An attached stone structure offers additional space to host visiting guests. The fluid indoor-outdoor connection invites in the natural beauty of the surrounding Texas hill country.
