This modern lake house was designed by Tennessee-based architects Carlton Edwards, located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina. The 3,500 square foot residence was designed to maximize the views of the mountain lake as well as the rugged mountain range. The design of the structure centers on rooting the architecture to its landscape, creating an indoor-outdoor connection.
This creates a better living experience for the homes inhabitants, who can really feel like they are apart of the environment. Expansive walls of glass helps to further enhance this living experience. The glass helps to create a sense of openness and transparency.
Inside, you will find clean lines and a modern aesthetic. A minimalist design enables fluidity of movement from one space to the next. At the entry level, main living areas are situated into three clusters: the great room, guest suite and master bedroom suite. A glass corridor adjoins the master bedroom suite with the rest of the home. This helps to make this space a private sanctuary for the homeowners to retreat at the end of the day. Off the bedroom suite is its own terrace and lush gardens, an outdoor oasis.
What We Love: This modern lake house demonstrates a beautiful merging of indoor and out through its walls of glass. We love the sleek lines of the architecture both indoors and out. Its streamlined living for those that enjoy a simple lifestyle that is relaxing and quite. With a surrounding of nature and rugged mountains in the distance, this is one home anyone would love to call home… would you agree? Please leave us your thoughts in the comments below.
