Located in a privileged enclave of the Mallorcan coast, this stunning home uses the sea as a starting point for the design scheme carried out by decoration and furnishings store Organic Studio. For the design team, this interior design and decoration project was a dream come true. It was the perfect blend—a heavenly location and amazing clients who were receptive to their ideas. Named “La Colonia”, the interior living environments of this abode are open and spacious, designed for relaxation and comfort. Architect Rafael F. Rigó modified and adapted the home to meet its new lifestyle needs, while the interior decoration was carried out by Andrea Pussin of Organic Studio. The designer worked alongside with the homeowner to develop clear ideas on the design scheme. The result: warm, spacious and ultra-comfortable environments, marked by strong architectural concepts and inspired by American lines of mid-twentieth century.
The interiors reflect a palette of materials, colors and textures that helps to create different nuances in each space, while softening the harshness of the lines. The idea was to create different environments in one space, each with their own personality, yet work with visual independence of each other, but be consistent together. This balance was achieved through the interior decoration through the selection of very uniform elements. The palette is a gradation of neutrals and sober colors. Wood tables offer varying tones and textures with a hint of rusticity. The finished result reflects elegant spaces without excessive contrasts, where all the attention is directed to the “picture” of the seascape that is framed by the large window.
What We Love: This Mallorcan home showcases a soothing neutral color palette so as not to detract from the serene blue sea beyond. Textures of burnished wood and stone adds character to the interiors. Delicately breaking up the neutral color scheme, decorator touches of light intensity has been introduced. This includes mustard cushions, a color that has been repeated in some of the dining room chairs…. what has caught your eye in this home? Let us know below in the comments.
