This handcrafted timber frame home was designed by Locati Architects, located in the Yellowstone Club, an exclusive ski resort community in Big Sky, Montana. Yellowstone Club is the world’s only private ski and golf club. It offers its residents the luxury of world-class skiing on over 2,200 acres of powder-drenched trails during the winter season. During the summer season, a prestigious 18-hole Tom Weiskopf-designed mountain golf course is at your disposal.

Cedarview Residence is a rustic mountain home surrounded by a playground for outdoor enthusiasts. This home offers plenty of luxurious amenities, including custom millwork, hand-hewn timber framing, log posts, and reclaimed wood beams. Local stone has been used both indoors and out. Expansive windows capture the views of the snow-capped Rocky Mountains in the distance and bathe the interiors with natural light.

The spectacular surroundings placed greater demands on the architectural design of this mountain retreat. This entailed an emphasis on form, livability, and harmony within the landscape. Varda Group was responsible for the beautiful interiors, where you will find a melding of contemporary features with hints of traditional rusticity. The material palette showcases wood flooring, wood ceiling trusses, wood beams, and stone fireplaces. Plenty of durability but with a strong sense of elegance, making for a very livable mountain retreat.

What We Love: This cozy, handcrafted timber-frame home offers all the amenities one could want in a retreat, with the added bonus of a gorgeous setting beyond its windows. There are plenty of elegant touches throughout, adding to this home’s charm. We love how there seems to be fireplaces in every room, adding warmth and plenty of ambiance. The reclaimed wood beams and stone add to the rusticity of this gorgeous dwelling.
