This one-of-a-kind modern mountain home, called ‘Stonefly,’ was built by Landmarks West and is situated in the exclusive Victory Ranch community in Kamas, Utah. The vision for this home was to be highly symmetrical, making it look like another prairie home that just rose out of the ground. It was conceived to maximize space and layout while still feeling like a home where the family could entertain and sleep.
The home is meant to entertain, and it’s truly a work of art, with the different segments of the home put together and the barn wood wrapping into the interior, so it looks like a pod that was added later on. All those details came together extremely well. Continue below to see the rest of this incredible home tour…

The driveway is incredible. As you drive in, it draws your eye down to the front of the house. The unique thing about this house is that it’s, in a sense, almost five separate buildings connected by bridges. Some great features of this home include the siding. It’s a trestle wood product – antiqued barn wood that was milled to a flat finish. Over the bridges, the builders used a Cedar Jack Black product to match the exterior anodized aluminum colors.
Five Connected Volumes Wrapped in Reclaimed Barn Wood

There are many unique features throughout the home. The trufig plugs and switches are amazing, integrated into the woodwork so you can’t really see them (they are just a little button on the wall with an inset metal base that’s actually recessed behind the drywall).
A Modern Mountain Home That Feels Like It Rose From the Land

The main focus of this home is its big six-foot pivot door. The glass walls and staircases are all extremely symmetrical. Everything had to be on the same plane. Looking left and right, everything is clean. Then, as you walk into the home, it has almost that Frank Lloyd Wright feel, where it’s compressed and then it expands.

What We Love About This Home
This modern mountain home in Utah is an absolute showstopper. The composition of five connected volumes, wrapped in antiqued barn wood, creates a home that feels as if it rose organically from the landscape. We love how the reclaimed siding transitions seamlessly from exterior to interior, blurring the line between inside and out. The six-foot pivot doors, trufig integrated switches, and motorized drapes show incredible attention to detail. The way the great room compresses at entry then dramatically expands, a nod to Frank Lloyd Wright’s spatial sequencing, makes every arrival feel like a moment.

The ceilings are 22 feet high, and the drapes are motorized, opening automatically and rolling up to reveal an amazing view out the back. The home is extremely secluded, even though it’s in the heart of the Victory Ranch subdivision. It feels like you’re in your own oasis.
Soaring Interiors Designed for Gathering

Another beautiful detail is the living room fireplace; there’s no surround. The plaster rolls right into the fireplace box, and the box is plastered behind, creating a clean, simple look.

Outdoor Living at Its Very Best in Victory Ranch, Utah

As you walk out the back, another big pivot door is flanked by multi-slides. Everything’s at the same elevation: the back heated deck, the fire pit location with the rolling ipe down to a great fire pit, and then, off to the left, a Diamond Spa that is flush and finished into the Ipe deck.

The fire pit in the backyard, with ipe decking, wraps around into a seat with underlit lighting.
