What We Love About This House

The interiors strike a beautiful balance, deeply traditional in their detailing, with paneled walls, spindle staircases, and brass fittings, yet unpretentious in the way they are furnished and lived in. Details such as the porthole powder room mirror, the compass rose entry floor, and the hand-painted nautical tiles at the fireplace reveal a home that was designed with genuine character. Perhaps most enviably of all, nearly every room captures a glimpse of the harbor, a fabulous reminder of this gorgeous waterfront location.

I appreciate how the main entry is an extension out from the two main parts of the house, rather than something built into the house. Seems like a pleasant way to gain a bit more interior space and make the entry more significant.
