A lodge-inspired mountain home with backdrop of Deschutes National Forest

lodge-inspired-mountain-home-exterior

This Montana lodge-inspired mountain home was designed by JHL Design together with CD Redding Construction, surrounded by ponderosa pine trees in Central Oregon’s Black Butte Ranch. Inside, you will find 4,600 square feet of living space with an open floor plan that provides a modern feel while the wood finishes and earth tones provide warmth and relaxation.

This house is a refined take on lodge-style architecture. The heart of the home is a beautiful stone fireplace that reaches up to the wood-covered ceiling. Large windows look into the surrounding forest. The project team balanced the home’s soaring scale with cozier elements, like built-in window seats flanking the hearth, handmade rugs, and warm lighting. Continue below to see the rest of this spectacular home that took two years to complete…

What We Love: This lodge-inspired mountain home offers a warm and welcoming living environment that caters to all ages. We are loving the warmth from the heavy use of wood throughout this home and the paint color selections on the kitchen island and in the laundry/mudroom. The forested surroundings of this home help to create a feeling of seclusion for the owners and their guests. Overall, the project team did a fabulous job of creating a home that echoes the architectural style of a lodge in Montana, what the owners had envisioned for their dream home.

Natural wood can be found throughout this dwelling, infusing it with inviting warmth. This can be seen in the exposed, rough-hewn beams and posts, and finely finished cabinets and flooring.
