This serene Scandinavian sanctuary was designed by Studio Own Architecture, tucked into the wilderness of Sweden. This contemporary boasts a harmony of wood, black, and concrete to create an atmosphere of understated elegance. Expansive walls of glazing capture views of the surrounding terrain, inviting natural light to dance across the interior and illuminate the tranquil spaces within.
Inside, the interior unfolds with a sense of refined minimalism, where clean lines and open spaces evoke a feeling of modern serenity. The use of concrete elements adds an industrial edge, while strategically placed black accents infuse the space with a sense of drama and contrast.
Outside, the home seamlessly transitions into its natural surroundings, with expansive decks and outdoor living areas providing the ultimate space for relaxation and entertaining. Here, inhabitants can enjoy the beauty of the woods in privacy and seclusion, surrounded by the modern elegance of their forest retreat.
What We Love: This Scandinavian sanctuary provides its inhabitants with a peaceful atmosphere for relaxing and enjoying the surrounding sights and sounds of nature. Despite its minimalist design, this home is warm and welcoming and helps to not detract from the wonderful views through the large expanses of glass. Overall, we think the architects did an amazing job of creating a harmonious blend of simplicity and elegance, making the home a perfect retreat.
