Unfold Architecture together with Sustainable 9 designed this sleek modern home with meticulous detailing, nestled into a steep hillside in Golden Valley, a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Set on an urban-sized property, this dwelling was creatively designed in response to a set of unique site conditions.

The house is terraced up the hill, providing multiple connections to the spacious urban lot. This allows the main living spaces to wrap around the greenspace, providing numerous visual and physical relationships to the backyard. With a direct connection to the largest public park in Minneapolis, the backyard transforms seasonally to support the family’s active, outdoor lifestyle. I’m curious what the product is on the exterior that looks like large panel rain screen of some sort, possibly metal panels.

Hey Bret – That material is a recycled, condensed, paper product called Richlite. Really durable stuff. Actually used in Skatepark ramps in some cases!

Here is a link to their website:https://www.richlite.com/
