Studio MM Architect has designed this striking contemporary lake house that is located in the Lake Wylie area of South Carolina. An active family-oriented lifestyle defines the design for this home. The ownersโ two energetic young children and a pair of large dogs necessitate that the house provide the open spaces and play areas they need while also affording private moments for work and study.
A pass-through driveway allows for a safe outdoor play space, and a partially enclosed courtyard organizes the house around a pool and backyard for use by all ages. As these spaces are overlooked by the kitchen and communal living space, the clients are able to keep a watchful eye while making dinner or entertaining.

While the homeowners love family time, they also wanted a space to relax, leading to the separation of the main suite and the childrenโs wing.
The property also offers amazing views of Lake Wylie, visible from an expansive front porch. Ultimately, the design facilitates both large family gatherings, quiet moments for homework, and sporadic games of tag.
What We Love: This South Carolina lake house offers a family a wonderful home to meet the needs of their active lifestyle. Crisp, clean interior living spaces are flooded with natural light thanks to large windows throughout. The spacious design is perfect for entertaining family and friends, especially with its fabulous outdoor spaces. One of our favorite features is the pivoting front door that looks straight through to the backyard.
