What WE Love: This mountain contemporary retreat offers complete privacy tucked into a forest of pine trees in the Sierra Nevadas. Large windows capture the most unforgettable views over the rugged mountains of Northern California. We are especially loving the living room with its soaring ceilings and bi-folding doors that extends this space out to an expansive patio. Overall, we think this would be a spectacular getaway to enjoy the great outdoors through all four seasons.

Tell Us: What design features in this home do you find most inspiring and why in the Comments below!

Inside, the dwelling resembles a sophisticated speakeasy, where deep color tones are accented by natural stone and highlighted with bright metallic fixtures. Special decorative pieces and custom design elements, such as the shades of green and custom brass accent pieces, incorporate the familyโ€™s Irish roots into their new home.

Beautiful!! We’re attempting a quick little “mini me” version here in our little woodsy haven outside of Sacramento. Can you share the species of wood used on the exterior??
Thank you ~

there must be some interesting structural arrangements in the cantilever stairway that runs across a window. i suppose that explains why the treads are linked instead having separated treads in a “floating” arrangement.
