LDa Architecture & Interiors was commissioned for the renovation of this spectacular coastal family retreat located in Brewster, Massachusetts. This home serves as a getaway from urban living for a family of four. After purchasing this 15-year-old home, the owners desired a facelift to the existing and outdated condition of this Cape Style home.
Set atop a cliff overlooking Cape Cod Bay, this was an idyllic vacation retreat for an active family. The project team redesigned the functionality of the spaces while integrating the magnificent ocean views. The property was taken back to studs and framing structure. Non-bearing walls were reconfigured for a new floor plan.

The exterior has been wrapped in new cedar shakes while all new mechanical systems were installed. The interior finish features an expansive owner’s suite, bedrooms with built-in bunk beds and classic Cape Cod elements of white wood throughout. This project’s scope also included an in-ground pool, terraced landscaping and a staircase leading down the cliff to the water’s edge.
This 8,000 square foot residence is just a short jaunt to the beach, but ocean swimming is possible only during high tide. The solution – a new pool in the front yard. This personal oasis allows the family to make the most of their vacation time.

What We Love: This coastal family retreat offers its inhabitants a warm and inviting new layout that is idyllic for hosting getaways for years to come. We are loving the new exterior layout with the spectacular swimming pool and beautiful landscaping. The cliffside perch provides tranquil views through new large windows that also help to flood the interiors with natural light.
