Tour this ranch-style home with a playful Bohemian vibe on Lake Austin

bohemian-style-lakeside-home-entry

This lakeside home with a Bohemian vibe is designed by Paul Lamb Architects in collaboration with Crowell Builders, located in Austin, Texas. Taken down to the studs, this home was given a complete overhaul for a family with three young children. Originally residing in Southern California, the couple wanted to pay tribute to their Laurel Canyon bungalow that had a 1960’s vibe. The 7,500 square foot, five-bedroom home was transformed from your typical Texas Tuscan look to a wood-clad, ranch style abode. Interior designer Fern Santini infused the interiors of this Lake Austin home with plenty of color and texture.

In the entryway of this home, the designer’s goal was to make it feel like an outdoor living space. Hanging above an 1850s English table is a striking Swedish lantern from the 1820s. Accenting the table are the Marina outdoor garden stools by Brazilian-based, Tidelli. They are composed of nautical rope woven around a welded and powder-coated aluminum frame. In the corner of this space are headless deers filled with ferns, sourced from Italy-based Imperfetto Lab.

What We Love: This lakeside dwelling is the perfect family home, with plenty of entertaining spaces and a fabulous two-story screened-in porch. The designer did a fantastic job of infusing a playful Bohemian vibe throughout the interiors, layering in textures and color. Overall, this home is brimming with personality and charm with comfortable living spaces for family living and entertaining in style… Readers, what do you think of the design of this home, could you picture yourself living here?
