Jen Samson Design in collaboration with Meagher Builders has reimagined this beautiful lake house perched above Lake Tahoe’s Crystal Bay in Nevada. Purchased as a vacation retreat by a young family of four from California, the original home was characterized by a dark and outdated interior. What attracted the new inhabitants was the home’s unique position, nestled almost directly above the water. The goal of this rehab project was to focus on the breathtaking scenery — water, sky, and mountains.
The inviting front entrance of this timeless lake lodge-style dwelling is perched atop the four levels of the home. The exterior facade required minimal updates aside from the replacement of the front door and the addition of a few windows. Nearly every window within this four-level dwelling captures picturesque views of the lake and mountains, inviting the outdoors into the interior.

What We Love: This beautiful Lake Tahoe house provides its inhabitants with a comfortable and relaxing vacation getaway that has been completely overhauled to meet their lifestyle needs. We love that almost every room in this home has access to a deck to enjoy tranquil views of the lake. Our favorite feature in this dwelling is the fieldstone fireplace in the living room, an attractive element that adds to the mountain/lake vibe of the interiors.
