Amy Carman Design has beautifully renovated this vacation home for a family who is deeply connected to Elkhart Lake, a village in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. Passionate racing enthusiasts and car collectors, they have been visiting the famed Road America raceway for generations.
Looking to put down permanent roots in the area, they invested in a home that is within walking distance from Elkhart Lake’s beach and vibrant downtown. The design team was tasked with a full-scale renovation, gutting the home from top to bottom.
The expanded kitchen boasts a Lacanche range, a spacious island with seating for four, and exquisite suede-finished quartzite countertops. The lower level is dedicated to honoring the owner’s love of racing, featuring a striking new library bar designed to showcase generations of racing memorabilia and collectibles.
When it came to furnishing the dwelling, the design team opted for an inviting atmosphere, employing a warm color palette with layered textiles and soft fabrics. The goal of this project was to create a down-to-earth, approachable interior that the entire family could enjoy.
