This Nordic-inspired family lake house retreat was designed by PKA Architecture in collaboration with Martha O’Hara Interiors, nestled on a secluded property in Luck, Wisconsin. Created as an escape for extended family members to gather under one roof, the interior of this lake house is centered around spending time together socializing, sharing delicious meals, or playing board games.

The original structure on the property held fond memories. However, it was dark, dated, and not large enough to accommodate this growing family. The new Chalet is centered around creating space where they can spend quality time together. With a fondness for bright, bold colors, a purposeful inclusion throughout the dwelling was inspired by colors seen in the family’s South American ski resort.

What We Love: This bright and inviting Nordic-inspired lake house provides a wonderful refuge for extended family members to gather. The project team has done a fantastic job of creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for promoting a relaxing environment for this large family to take refuge. We are loving the bold pops of color and all of the natural light through large windows that frame serene views of the lakeside setting.
