Spanish country style home with refined, modern-rustic styling

A refined and modern country style home was designed by GBZ Arquitectura in collaboration with interiors studio Hecho en Padilla, located in Ávila, Spain. Nestled at the foot of the Sierra de Gredos, this newly constructed home surrounded by a leafy forest has become a comforting, anti-stress shelter. The design of the project is a single level loft style home, with soaring ceilings and bright and spacious interiors.

The decoration is characterized by an open layout with striking contrasts and a mixing of styles and high-end materials. The interior layout is comfortable and fluid: after the living room and dining room, are the kitchen, then the bedrooms and bathrooms. Above, on the mezzanine level, you will find the master bedroom retreat.

In the living room, there are plenty of comfortable furnishings to settle in and get comfortable. The furnishings are covered in fabrics of vivid colors, from a striking fuchsia linen to lime green. The coffee table also displays a nice pop of color, in a green lacquer. This color is also present in the walls, which helps to connect through the expansive windows with the outside vegetation.

The materials and textures were selected to invite you to relax and feel comfortable in this home. The furnishings and details creates a superb and fresh stage that updates the country aesthetics.

Interesting Fact: The walls throughout the home are in green tones. The designers used natural pigments mixed with gypsum in a Veronese green, in the lower portion of the wall, applying a lighter shade in the upper one. This formula helps to visually elevate the rooms.

I like this style. Not so pretentious, or cold. Mixing the “rustic” helps to give warmth, then the mix of fabric colors, artwork and such, give this room interest and liveliness
