This gorgeous shingle-style beach house getaway with interiors by Jenny Martin Design overlooks its own stretch of beachfront, located on beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Boasting sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and a lovely sandy beach to collect seashells, this residence was created for use as a multi-generational family getaway.
The 5,300-square-foot estate was conceptualized as a beach house retreat for a family that craves the Island’s temperate climate. The home features a spacious living room and kitchen, a billiards entertainment area, and a special bunk room with eight vacation beds for guests to enjoy.

The designer focused on elevating the rejuvenation aesthetic, with easy flow throughout the home, spa-like bathrooms, and details of coastal elegance. The Lacanche stove, imported from France, became a focal point in the design, while Dutch doors open the home to the sea. Balance was created throughout the home using strong symmetry, scale, and tone.
The finished result is a stately west coast escape that celebrates stylish beachside living with contemporary sophistication.

The open concept of this traditional coastal getaway allows one entertaining space to flow seamlessly into the next.
The designer has created depth and detail with the coffered ceiling to elevate the space, creating a more complex and sophisticated aesthetic. The floors are Coswick Barcelona Engineered hardwood.

A custom bunk room with eight vacation beds for guests to enjoy. This space captures the playfulness of stylish beachside living. It’s the perfect hideaway after a long day spent in the sun and sand. This space features textural finishes that mimic the surrounding seascape, while a shiplap interior and nautical palette showcase a spirited take on casual coastal elegance.
This bright and airy room has large picture windows overlooking the water, so the designer opted to play off of the pale blue color on the walls by using a more saturated version on the ceiling, which did double duty highlighting the white beams. This resulted in a room that feels like a cozy treehouse, despite the soaring ceilings.
The exquisite light fixture in the bedroom was sourced from Bespoke Design in Victoria, British Columbia.
