This spectacular camp-like retreat was designed by Pearson Design Group, nestled on a picturesque lake in upstate New York. The property was once a dairy farm and the architects designed this home to capture the spirit of its past by integrating historical materials, detailing, and scale. The main residence is tucked into the hillside, boasting sweeping views over the shoreline.
There is also a boathouse on the property which offers convenient access to water activities along with providing additional living space right on the lake. From the exterior, the architecturally traditional features – like the reconditioned gas lamps – provides the feeling that the structures may not have electricity or running water.
What We Love: This camp-like retreat with its traditional styling and craftsmanship was meticulously designed to capture the essence of its historical past. The tranquility of the lakeshore provides a feeling of relaxation for both the owners and guests alike. We are especially loving the boathouse design with its cozy living spaces and sleeping alcoves and accordion doors that open to the outdoor deck while offering views of the lake.
