Tour this absolutely stunning Spanifornia style home in New Jersey

Today, we’re stepping inside this “Spanifornia” style home that is a collaboration between Michael Robert Construction and Ellie Mroz Design, located in Westfield, New Jersey. This newly constructed design/build celebrates the Southern California spirit with a Spanish twist. It is the perfect balance between old and new, mixing wood tones with milky whites, patterned textiles, and greenery.

The project team was tasked with building this dwelling among older homes in a historically significant section of Westfield. They were determined from the start that the home be as unique and classic as those surrounding it. A material palette of brick, natural woods, marbles, and metals were selected for their timeless appeal.

The 5,000 square feet of the home are imbibed with materials, design, and architectural elements that match this young family’s needs and “Spanifornia” aesthetic – modern and cool married with warm and classic. Archways, large windows and doors, and unique millwork throughout bring this look to life.

Don’t love it. Not a fan of the closets. Surprised no pool. Beautiful house that’ll I’ll never be able to afford all the same lol.

The concept was great but many lost opportunities to achieve the overall look. The kitchen was a huge disappoint and had nothing that fit into the Spanifornia look or feel. The striped woven chandelier in dining is wonderful but the rest of the room fell flat to support it.

this house looks rather cliche to me. from the exterior, this house has a number of elements that custom builders seem to like to throw into their “custom” houses in an apparent attempt to achieve a dramatic effect.
