Tim Barber Architects has designed this sustainable home with a beach-chic aesthetic, located in Studio City, a neighborhood in Los Angeles County, California. The architects have previously earned LEED accreditations and were excited about the prospects of creating this LEED-certified traditional house.
Creative design strategy packed a lot of house into the 5,083 square feet (5,483 square feet with the garage). The main level features a living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, guest suite, laundry, mudroom and billiard room. On the upper level you will find the primary suite, three en-suite bedrooms, a home office and an upstairs family room.

Entertaining is encouraged with a deep front porch and an expansive rear porch with dining area, built-in BBQ and a sitting area near an outdoor fireplace. The resort-like backyard boasts a swimming pool with a waterslide, spa, sport court and cabana. Green features entail solar panels, a rain cistern, a grey water tank, an air purification system, water filtration and state-of-the-art insulation.
The project was awarded a LEED Gold status by the U.S. Green Building Council.
