This rustic lakeside home with warm and inviting details was designed by Bria Hammel Interiors, located in Stone Lake, a town in Washburn County, Wisconsin. The original old log cabin on this property was updated to this beautiful refined rustic home that has the perfect mix of cozy elements and modern touches.

The project team stayed true to this home’s original roots, preserving the exterior wood while giving it a modernized facelift with a mix of vertical and horizontal boards, unique stonework, and arches that frame the entryway. Inside you will find living spaces with layers of textures, statement stonework, and plenty of cozy warmth.

“One interesting fact about this home is that there is barely any sheetrock used – all the walls on the main floor have some type of wood treatment,” states the designer. This makes the walls more durable and brings character, as you will notice in the guest bedrooms. Along with wood accent walls in the bedrooms, the designer selected accent lighting such as wall sconces, which provides more space for the guests to utilize the nightstands.

For the guest bedrooms, it was important to the owners that each space had a different look and feel while preserving the home’s overall warm and cozy cabin feel. The textile selections are soft and approachable, creating a feeling of relaxation for guests.
