This gorgeous contemporary lake house was designed by hoist. Architects in collaboration with Parsons Construction, nestled on Lake Coeur d’Alene in northern Idaho. A collaborative effort between the owners and the project team has conceived a home that is open and inviting. This home is in complete harmony with nature, welcoming the outdoors in.
This home was created with enough living space to accommodate the owner’s adult children and their families. Each of the guest bedrooms provides convenient outdoor access to the lake. They were also designed with simplicity in mind, making this home low-maintenance.

Above: The most visually stunning aspect of this dwelling’s exterior facade is the cantilevered primary bathroom that appears to float in the midair.
Inspired by the mid-century modern style of the Seattle coasts, this home is characterized by exposed wooden beams and dark flooring to bring warmth into the clean and contemporary lines of this dwelling.
What We Love: This gorgeous lake house offers an open and spacious home for enjoying the lake lifestyle and gathering with extended family. After a long day of play at the lake, the family loves to gather in the kitchen. Occasionally the owners host up to 30 dinner guests, which can easily be accommodated thanks to the large kitchen island and expansive outdoor living spaces. For cooler weather, this home features three decks with fireplaces and propane heaters installed in the ceiling.
Above: One of three covered decks, this main entertaining deck features temperature control for inviting warmth, an outdoor multi-media system, and magnificent lake vistas. The family lives on and in the lake, where most of their time is spent kayaking, boating, surfing, fishing or just watching the unforgettable sunsets over the water.
Almost every window in this home faces the breathtaking lake, while pretty much every door can be opened to enjoy fresh breezes off the water. This also helps to establish a seamless indoor-outdoor connection.
The Tree Haus
The 800 square foot “Tree Haus” was devised to accommodate overflow guests from the main house. Nestled in the trees, this structure is a miniature version of the main dwelling. There is one bed and one bath and a spacious loft that can sleep up to 14 grandchildren.
