This contemporary mountain retreat was designed by Walton Architecture, located in Martis Camp, a private community in Truckee, California. Nestled amongst the pines, this home enjoys beautiful views of nature nearby Lookout Mountain, Mount Pluto and the Martis Camp Golf Clubโs driving range.
The clean and thoughtful design of this dwelling takes advantage of the naturally bright setting. Take a step inside this 4,245 square foot home with five bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms to soak in the serenity of the property that has very much dictated the design.

What We Love: This mountain retreat offers comfortable living spaces that are warm and functional for both family living and entertaining. The neutral color palette along with the texture and patterns take its cue form the serenity and calm that is inspired by this home’s natural surroundings.

Note: Have a look at a couple of our favorite home tours that we have featured here on One Kindesign from the portfolio of the architects of this project, Walton Architecture: Insanely beautiful mountain modern home in the Sierra Mountains and Cozy mountain retreat with Scandinavian vibe on beautiful Lake Tahoe.
From the roofline to natural materials such as hickory and locally sourced Montana stone to floor-to-ceiling windows, every detail was selected with the goal of inviting nature inside.

Above: The boy’s bunk bedroom features a rope ladder that leads to a secret play space. This space takes advantage of a wasted cavity in the ceiling.
Above: To create a seamless indoor-outdoor connection, the patio features sliding Weiland Doors. This is one of the best spots to soak in the stunning scenery while relaxing on the MBRACE wing chair and ottoman by Dedon.
