This exquisite cottage called “Hygge House” was designed by Swan Architecture, located in an urban setting of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Hygge, pronounced hoo-gah, means coziness in Danish. Hygge is also a mindset โ itโs about relaxing and being kind to yourself โ itโs about catering to what makes you happy.
The owner’s of this home wished to capture all of their goals into their dream cottage, including natural sunlight throughout the day. Warm and cozy textures like sheepskin rugs, wool carpeting, candles and glowing fires blanket the spaces. Baking, and photography and sewing are just a few of the passions the clients wanted to incorporate into the natural rhythm of the home.
Project Team: Architect: Swan Architecture | Builder: Streeter Elevation | Interior Design: Owner | Landscape: Grey Leaf Design
The true Hygge of this home stems from the homeonwers, who invested joyful time and energy making this urban cottage a bright reflection of themselves.
