Lincoln Park home is a stunning display of French-style architecture

transitional-traditional-home-exterior-lincoln-park

This transitional style family home is designed by BGD&C Custom Homes along with Kadlec Architecture + Design, located in Lincoln Park, a neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois. Showcasing classical, French-style architecture, with a limestone facade, slate roof, rounded dormer windows and opulent gardens โ€” this home melds into the vernacular of the neighborhood. Encompassing 12,000 square feet of living space, the design of this dwelling embraces family living. Designed for a family with three children, this home sought to eliminate the typical distinctions between formal and informal spaces.

The project team sought to create a home that would be thoroughly lived in, bridging the classic French Provincial style of the exterior with relaxed, informal finishes and furnishings. A playroom, loft, craft room, roof deck, and lower level indoor pool offers plenty of space for spending time together. A gracious skylit stairway floods natural light into the heart of the home, while metal and glass doors in the dining room and office allow the natural setting to extend into the house. Lower level spaces includes a pool and workroom, which affords a contemporary departure from the rest of the dwelling.
