Mountain modern retreat in Lake Tahoe offers a sophisticated sanctuary

contemporary-exterior

This mountain modern retreat was designed by Walton Architecture in collaboration with Artistic Designs for Living, located in the community of Martis Camp, California. Lake Tahoe’s upscale Martis Camp is set between historic Truckee and North Lake Tahoe. This home is a sophisticated sanctuary for a family of four, whose home base is in Marin County. This is an ideal retreat to be next to the ski slopes and enjoy all the amenities their home has to offer for after ski fun.

The designer wanted to bring in an element of surprise, along with comfort and coziness, applying color and texture in this clean and linear home. There are four bedrooms in this home, which can be used to entertain family and friends for ski weekends. The designer’s solution to accomodate overnight guests was to make several of spaces configurable. A platform bed will easily shift from two twins with a center tray to a king bed with two side trays. This allows one of the guest rooms to host couples or kids.

What We Love: This mountain modern retreat features an exquisite combination of playful details with luxe interiors. The warm color palette was inspired by the expansive windows framing stunning mountain views. This helps to infuse coziness into this modern home. The overall aesthetic offers a playful, edgy yet casual atmosphere that is perfect for a ski retreat designed for family and guests… Readers, what do you think of this modern ski home, would this be your ideal vacation retreat?
