This striking coastal dwelling was designed by BARK Design Architects, located in beautiful Marcus Beach, a suburb in Noosa, Queensland, Australia. The premise for the design of this home was to create two pavilions forming a central courtyard, wrapped around a sculptural Moreton Bay Ash tree residing on the property. Spread out over two levels, the residence consists of 7,825 square feet (727 square meters) of living space, focused on indoor-outdoor living.

“Sitting just 250 meters from the sea, you would think that this beach house is at its best during the hours of sunlight, but come sunset it is transformed into a gorgeous spectacle of its own,” states the architects.

What We Love: This coastal dwelling in light and airy thanks to expansive windows, high ceilings and an open floor plan. This home uses sustainable design principles to shield it’s inhabitants from the elements, including deep overhangs and cross-ventilation. Little artificial light is needed due to all the glazing, while air conditioning was not installed due to a fantastic indoor-outdoor connection throughout… Readers, what design features in this home caught your eye?
