Beaux Arts Residence-Janof Architecture-01-1 Kindesign

This historic log home renovated by Janof Architecture is located in Beaux Arts Village, a town located in the Eastside area of Seattle, Washington. From the exterior, this home offers an authentic log structure, with its roots in the arts and crafts lodge tradition. The residence was given a fresh makeover, which included a renovated kitchen and dining area that seamlessly blend modern technology with the original architecture.

Accolades:

  • This home has won the Great American Home Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation in 1994.
  • It has been featured in Sunset magazine and the book “American Bungalow Style”.
  • It has been the star of a car commercial and an Eddie Bauer catalog.

What We Love: This historic log home is warm and welcoming thanks to a stunning exterior facade of timber to its open and airy interior layout. We are crushing on the living room with the white-washed wood beam ceiling and exposed structural supports to the stone fireplace and hearth. The built-in bay window seat adjacent to the fireplace looks like an idyllic spot to curl up with a good book… or perhaps a nap! … Readers, what are your favorite design features in this home? Please let us know in the comments below, we enjoy reading your feedback!

Note: Have a look at another incredible home tour that we featured here on One Kindesign from the portfolio of Janof Architecture: Prospect House showcasing panoramic views over Seattle.
