This multi-generational family retreat was designed by interiors studioย Scavullo Design, offering sweeping views over the Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel, California. The residence features a fabulous Mission style architecture, which the homeowner’s, who are originally from Connecticut, fell in love with. The richness of this rustic styleย is so completely different from their primary home. This makes it all the more exciting to visit and spend time in this beautiful and elegantly design retreat.
The interiors features a beautiful mix of Moroccan tile work, rich hues, antiques and a relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle. The majority of the furnishings were handcrafted by specialty artisans, curated both locally and from Mexico. This helps to enhance the authenticity of the spaces. The homeowners warmth and graciousness is reflected in every detail of their exquisite home. Family and friends visit this heavenly getaway to relax in its inviting and luxurious hacienda style architecture.

Interesting Fact: The exquisite ceramic lamp on the cabinet was purchased by the homeowner while on vacation in Mexico. The design team designed all of the guest room around each of these unique lamps. The cabinet was sourced from Rituals in Los Angeles, the door panels are copper.

Above: The outdoor living spaces can be enjoyed all year round in Carmel Valley. The relaxing sectional was sourced fromย McKinnon & Harris, perfect for hours of enjoyment in front of the warm fireplace. In front of the fireplace is a custom designed iron screen. It helps to add a rustic, handmade artistic layer to this outdoor living space. The petrified stump tables injects an earthy and texturalย appeal.
