Stocker Hoesterey Montenegro Architects designed this modern yet warm abode that takes its design cue from it’s spectacular surroundings in Dallas, Texas. A wood and stone exterior facade is punctuated by large windows that invites nature and luminosity inside. Upon entry into this light and airy home, you will notice a predominantly neutral canvas.
This serves as a backdrop to the vibrant splashes of jewel tones in the textures and finishes. This helps to create a colorful aesthetic that does not detract from its natural environment. The surrounding property is a wood lot positioned above a creek, almost visible from the expansive windows at the rear of the dwelling.
“The layout, which is pulled apart into a campus of structures, helps to give shape to a variety of outdoor “rooms” appreciated from virtually every indoor space, and the “stretched out” and slender design of the home takes the greatest advantage of celebrating a natural dialogue with its surroundings” states the architects.
What We Love: There is a beautiful indoor-outdoor connection in this incredible home surrounded by nature. A modern design palette is warmed up with the use of wood on the floors and some of the ceilings. White walls serve well as the backdrop to contemporary art pieces… and great use of outdoor living space! Readers, what design features stand out to you?
