A gorgeous modern farmhouse style home in Washington

Ben Trogdon Architects was commissioned for the design of this modern farmhouse in Medina, Washington, while H2 Design + Build was responsible for the interior design and construction. The inspiration for the farmhouse style came from a local project designed by Burr & McCallum Architects. This particular home featured more of a simplistic aesthetic that fit perfectly within its environmental context. All storage throughout the interiors, either than the kitchen, is either vintage or selected with a vintage feel, providing the home a sense of history. Whimsical and quirky decorative items decorate the interiors, showcasing the homeowners unique personality.

What We Love: This modern farmhouse is characterized by bright and airy spaces, unique furniture and decor finds and and inviting living environment. There is so much to love about this home; from the moment you step foot on this property, you are greeted by beautifully manicured gardens. Once inside, vintage finds, new and old, create eye-catching, livable spaces. The home is cozy and warm and very family friendly. The design team did a fabulous job of creating a timeless home to be cherished for years to come.

Adding to the nature aesthetic of this home is the Cole & Son Woods wallcovering. Just an FYI if you are loving this wallpaper for your own home, but do not like the black and white. You can get this pattern in a variety of phantom hues, you can also request a custom color to match with your design scheme!

The wing back chairs at the ends adds a sophisticated style to the space. And the gorgeous dining table? The source for the farmhouse style table is from one of our favorites, Anthropologie—they are not just a clothing store! You can also find vintage farmhouse style tables on 1st Dibs.

Notice the stunning pendant lights above the dining table? You can find these beauties at Holloways of Ludlow. Beautiful French doors provides direct access to the outdoor patio in the backyard.

The white paint color, which is seen throughout the interiors is none other than the ever popular—Benjamin Moore’s Simply White.

i love the simplicity of the exterior design. Interested to hear how you chose the outdoor color scheme of grey metal roof with black windows. I see the black metal roofs but mostly with white windows…is it too much to do black metal roof and black windows. Also interested to hear your comments about the indoor color of the windows being black vs white from your experience.
