Stocker Hoesterey Montenegro Architects designed this fabulous contemporary home that surrounds a courtyard, located in the family friendly neighborhood of Highland Park, in Dallas, Texas. The homeowners are a couple with three young children who had resided down the street for years. They were looking to build their dream home and were searching for the perfect property to do this. They opted to tear down the home that was existing on the site and start from scratch. This including the landscaping on both the front and rear of the home. The lush landscaping was brought into the interior visually, adding various plantings for scent and privacy.

Slate gabled roofs, and hand-troweled cement plaster characterizes the exterior facade. Interior features include flush baseboards, smooth walls and lightly coffered ceilings. There are numerous incredible details in this home, but most impressive is the more than 50 wraparound windows. One of the owner’s requests for the design of their home, floor-to-ceiling windows flood the interiors with natural light.
A central courtyard draws light deep into the residence. Another must for the homeowners was a nice flow between indoors and out. With interiors by Deborah Walker + Associates, the home reflects an undeniable warmth and cohesion, through the use of wood, stone and additional textural accents.
What We Love: This courtyard estate showcases brilliant design features throughout the interiors, offering a fabulous indoor-outdoor connection. We especially love the central courtyard design, offering this family home plenty of privacy in a suburban neighborhood. This architects design style is very appealing, as you can see in a past home tour we featured, Mediterranean style home infused with elegance in Dallas.
