This dramatic black and white inspired row house was designed by Lukas Machnik Interior Design, located in Bucktown, a trendy neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois. This luxuriously designed home was designed to cater to the lifestyle of its owners, showcasing clean lines and pure forms. The designer brought minimalism, modern and Bauhaus influences to this sensationally designed home. The living room features soaring 28 foot high walls that required large scale art work to create a dramatic statement piece. The designer contracted artist Lonney White to create the intricately detailed massive art installation of 24 feet in height, consisting of interlocking components to make it easier to integrate into the space. Expansive windows throughout the residence bathes the spaces in natural light. When working on a project, the designer also likes to incorporate his own personal art, furnishings and decor items, playing the role of curator to his clientele.
Sleek designer furnishings encompass this three-story residence, with dark hardwood flooring throughout most of the interiors anchored by textural area rugs to add a touch of softness and warmth. An outdoor terrace allows the homeowners a private oasis in the heart of the city for entertaining friends and family or just spending some personal time relaxing and getting some fresh air. What do you think of this renovation, could you live in a black and white space?
