A restored farmhouse in the beautiful Catalan countryside of Emporada, five minutes from the beach and just north of Barcelona, Spain has been designed by Architect George Moser. The dwelling has been divided into two floors to create spacious and airy spaces with plenty of natural light. The home retained its essence by keeping the existing structure and restoring the wood beams. Outdoor spaces were also given a facelift, which includes a splendid garden and swimming pool. Expanding access to the garden with doors and windows added interior luminosity and spaciousness as well as creating an enhanced visual connection to the outside. The new walls were painted a fresh coat of pale vanilla; terracotta flooring was added to the space in keeping with what is typical to the area.
The decor used throughout is rustic simplicity, based on the combination of wooden furniture, neutral upholstery and aging textures, dominating in all environments; while in some corners, there are custom built-ins, contributing to enhanced authenticity throughout. The kitchen features wood and terracotta tiles and a break in chromatic unity with blue walls adding freshness to the space. The bedroom adds a feeling of calmness to the home with a canopy bed and patchwork coverlet, while family photos become details that add value to the decor. Via
