Its been awhile since we featured one of our favorite and very personable designers, Claudia Juestel, founder and principal designer of Adeeni Design Group. You can have a look at our past feature, which was a collection of all of our favorite designs from the designer’s portfolio, here. Today we would like to showcase a brand new home that the designer has co-designed with Sutro Architects. This modern vineyard home is located on West Dry Creek Road in Healdsburg, California.
Claudia had worked with same clients (and architects) on their personal home in the city. So when they asked her to join up with the architects once again to work on this project, they were delighted to oblige. Located in Wine Country, this new home was constructed by Upscale Construction. This is a weekend getaway home for the clients, designed in a completely different style from their Edwardian in the city.
The design team built this home using sustainable practices. The overall aesthetic is minimal, modern and understated—with little color. Natural elements have been incorporated into the design scheme for overall added warmth. As you can see from the image above, this home was designed with a fabulous indoor-outdoor connection. This is true quintessential California living… and with a vineyard on your property, can it get any better?
The exterior finishes were selected to blend in and enhance the natural environment, rather than competing with it. On the interior, the design team selected materials of concrete, stainless and blackened steel, bronze, cedar and walnut. These elements contrast nicely against the bright white, gallery style walls. Adeeni Design Group collaborated with the architect in the selection of all materials, finishes and plumbing fixtures.
What We Love: This breathtaking modern vineyard home has a wonderful indoor-outdoor connection with fabulous views of the surrounding landscape. We love the neutral color palette with subtle pops of color inspired from the hues of the vineyard. The designer did a fabulous job of selecting eye-catching materials, finishes and furnishings to create a wonderful weekend getaway… Readers, please share with us your thoughts on the design of this home!
Note: Have a look at a couple of other home tours we have featured from the portfolio of Sutro Architects here: Sleek and contemporary four-level home in San Francisco and Modern meets traditional in Pacific Heights.
Above: Arterra Landscape Architects were responsible for the spectacularly designed landscape architecture of the surrounding property.
Above: The neutral color palette is accented by hues inspired by the changing shades of the vineyard—fresh greens and golden honey. Sustainable modern and vintage furnishings adds to the minimalist / informal aesthetic of this beautiful weekend pad.
