This gorgeous modern farmhouse dream home was designed by Ridgecrest Designs, nestled between heritage oak trees on a 1.4-acre site in Happy Valley, a neighborhood in Pleasanton, California. A couple with three young children commissioned the architects to create this 5,000-square-foot abode, customized for family living.
The open floor plan creates an inviting home for a close-knit family. The kitchen, illuminated by a custom wood beam suspended fixture, opens up to an outdoor living space and pool. A pantry allows for easy clean-up after dinner parties and acts as a second kitchen when needed.
What We Love: This modern farmhouse dream home provides an inviting respite for everyday family living. Durable materials and eye-catching finishes can be found throughout this house. The wood flooring throughout the main living spaces and the layering of textures exudes cozy warmth. We are especially loving the kitchen with the blend of white, light natural wood and blue island with a tiled front and wooden foot rest.

The dining room, which opens up to the backyard garden, features a wine room with authentic steel doors, reclaimed wood cladding, and a ladder to reach the top-shelf wines.
The craft room is the perfect place for the kids to do homework and let their creativity run wild. Across the hall is the downstairs powder room, featuring a marble floor and floating vanity.
On the second level, the main bathroom is flooded with light from the full glass wall and looks out to a balcony with an outdoor shower. The girl’s bathroom, painted in soft pink, is perfect for two sisters to prepare for the day.
