Locati Architects in collaboration with Champalimaud Design has designed this luxury mountain retreat nestled atop the Rocky Mountains in The Yellowstone Club community of Big Sky, Montana. This residence is a ski-in and ski-out retreat set amidst one of the most scenic landscapes in the United States.
Spacious and luxurious, this spacious mountain chalet is an intricate reinterpretation of rustic ski cabins. Custom-tailored to meet the tastes and lifestyle needs of the owners who are avid skiers. The designers of this home proposed a “transparent” house, boasting 360-degree views of the beautiful natural surroundings through all four seasons.
The owners typically use this home during the winter since they are fans of skiing and usually have guests during the high season of this sport. The spacious interiors allow for flexible living, adapting to the owners’ everyday lifestyle while accommodating their guests.
The spacious great room features soarking ceilings and different seating environments. A living area and other common areas are added for recreation such as a large TV and games room –with an additional kitchen– gym, sauna, large balconies with outdoor fireplaces and Jacuzzi, or the changing room adapted to the activity of skiing. A house designed to enjoy and rest, with the outside nature as the true protagonist of the decoration.

Expansive windows frame the breathtaking views, inviting the outdoors inside.
