Inviting beach house boasts indoor-outdoor living in Newport Beach

transitional-style-beach-house-exterior

This inviting beach house designed by Brandon Architects in collaboration with Patterson Customs Homes is located on Lido Isle, a man-made island in the harbor of Newport Beach, California. This custom designed 3,245 square foot home embraces the strata lifestyle by opening up to the pedestrian way. Traditional materials including white-washed brick, steel doors and windows, and wood paneling are expressed with contemporary detailing to bring the exterior into the interior of this dwelling.

Project Team: Architect: Brandon Architects | Builder: Patterson Custom Homes | Interior Designer: Brooke Wagner Design | Landscape: Dave Pedersen

Steel french doors along the back patio enables cool ocean breezes to flow all the way into the kitchen.

On the exterior facade, the bronze exterior lanterns were sourced from Linden Rose & Co. These fixtures provide the perfect weight to balance out the windows and doors manufactured by Euroline Steel Windows. There is a matching pendant light in the dining room by the same manufacturer, which helps to tie the indoor and outdoor spaces together to create one cohesive design.

The low profile frames on the Euroline steel windows and doors are unique and beautiful, offering a clean simplicity to the home’s design and enhancing the natural light brought into the living space.

What We Love: This inviting beach house features steel windows and doors throughout, creating a timeless aesthetic. The heavy use of glazing has eliminated walls to create interior rooms that can be completely opened and closed to facilitate the indoor/outdoor lifestyle that makes this region so desirable.

Tell Us: Would you feel right at home in this beach abode? What details most appealed to you and what details would you do differently if this was your home? Please share your feedback in the Comments?

Love the house, but the Craftsman style furniture just doesn’t go with it.

That’s what I thought. There is so much I love about this home, especially the steel doors and the baths. If you could afford the house, you can afford a decorator.
