This stunning farmhouse style dwelling was designed by Arcanum Architecture along with Jennifer Robin Interiors, located in Menlo Park, California. This lovely family home is a melding of indoor-outdoor living, allowing nature to be the focal point. When you live in an area with a temperate climate and are surrounded by rolling hills, ‘bringing the outdoors in’ becomes a lifestyle.
The homeowners requested an modern, agrarian-style home, that are atypical of the houses in the surrounding neighborhood. They wished for a design aesthetic of clean lines and fresh design ideas. They also wanted their home to have an indoor-outdoor connection, cater to family living and be inviting.
The design team created beautiful spaces that are well-proportioned with a harmonious flow. The dwelling was designed to maximize the width of the property, while also adding expansive windows to all the main living spaces on several sides. This allow the homeowners the opportunity to take advantage of the views, while blurring the lines between indoors and out.
Custom stained oak wood flooring can be seen throughout the main living spaces. The designer worked with a color palette of earthy beiges, tans, and grays, while integrating material elements of reclaimed woods, jute and leather. Antiques can also be seen dotted throughout the design scheme, as the designer loves to mix old with new. You will find a careful balance of feminine and masculine elements and high-end and low-end products, creating a curate aesthetic.
