Harrison Design has reimagined a cabin into a fabulous home with rustic and refined elements while optimizing its relationship with its serene setting alongside Lake Blue Ridge, Georgia. The goal of this project was to create a more open, modern design that would offer a luxurious destination to gather with family and friends.
The exterior is clad in fieldstone and garapa wood horizontal siding, with warm copper detailing. In the rear, decks and balconies on every level connect with the scenic lake and mountain views. By raising the pitch of the front and rear gables, new floor-to-ceiling windows showcase the spectacular vistas from inside.

This once-dated log cabin-style home was transformed into a contemporary yet timeless escape that would be passed down through the generations.
The sleek yet rustic interior creatively uses materials inspired by the woodland surroundings, including fieldstone, poplar bark, stained wood, and timber, with these surfaces contrasted by smooth metallics and softened by adding layers of cozy textures.
The result is a fun, fanciful, and supremely homey vacation retreat. In one of the two primary suites, a sculptural Italian travertine bathtub adds a spa-caliber amenity with a pair of matching slanted, pedestal sinks.

What We Love: This luxurious home on Lake Blue Ridge features a beautiful mix of rustic and modern details throughout its living spaces. We are loving the material palette, from limestone and marble to salvaged barn wood. The rooftop deck is a fabulous idea, the perfect spot for entertaining while enjoying the jaw-dropping views of the lake. Overall, the project team did a wonderful job of reimaging this home into a timeless abode.
